history of Alexandria, Louisiana, in postcards dating
from 1865 to 1955, has been written by Dale Genius, Director
of the Louisiana History Museum, and is now available for
purchase.
The
book contains over 115 pages of postcards and history, published
in color and black/white. The location and history of each
card is detailed, and some locations feature multiple views.
A number of the cards have never been published before, and
are quite rare.
The
book, published in 8" x 10.5" format, has received rave reviews
from several local historians who have read the look.
If
you were raised in Alexandria and remember some of the old
buildings of the past, then this book is for you! It will
surely bring back many memories of wonderful times of the
past.
