Mike Fisher of the Alexandria Louisiana Police Department

Michael Fisher, Sr. was a long-time member of the Alexandria Police Department.

He reached the rank of Captain, was one of the first motorcycle officers in Alexandria, and was also on the "Quickdraw" team.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving his country proudly in World War II in Europe.

In his law enforcement career, Mike served as escort and security for many celebrities such as John Wayne, Michael Landon, Fess Parker, Dale Robertson, Porter Wagoner and William Holden. See slideshow below.

After his retirement he went on to work as a bus driver and as a salesman with the Bancroft Paper Company. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an accomplished bowler and dancer.

He was a native of Fulton, N.Y. and a resident of Cenla for 70 years.

Mike Fisher died at age 90 on September 26, 2014.
