The Kent House as it was in September of 1911. This is in the original location on the corner of Texas Avenue and Rapides Avenue. The grass strip in the foreground is where Rapides Avenue runs today. The Kent House was moved across MacArthur Drive to its present location in the 1970s. The house today represents a first-rate example of a pre-Civil War plantation home open to the public.
